These are some of the common problems associated with site submissions that should be avoided:

DON'T use ANY exclamation marks !!!! in your title or description
DON'T submit more than one page for your site - just the main welcome page will do

Beastiality, animal or illegal sites
XXX password, warez or MP3 sites
Multi-level-marketing / Affiliate links only sites
Free hosted sites (Angelfire, Tripod, GeoCities, etc.)
Sites with no useful / unique content or replicated / mirror pages
Broken links / images or site under construction
Dishonest title or description submitted
